I am creating an overlarge window well for egress windows (3 1/2' basement windows).  The well is 5' deep, 8' wide and (http://maplered.com) 25' long.  I am planning on using Wisconsin Granite Boulder 12 - 18" size.  Does anyone have suggestions on installation.  We've heard that we should lay a barrier cloth down 1st with 1" clear gravel as the base.  We've also heard that this type of wall should be placed right on the soil.  Thanks for your help.
